چکیده
Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a zoonotic pathogen, causing infectious hepatitis in man. Pigs and wild boars are the natural asymptomatic reservoirs, while disease humans could be either or evolve hepatitis. In Europe, an increasing number of human infections from HEV have been reported over last few years. The main route transmission through contaminated food, by direct indirect consumption raw undercooked pork boar meat products. Up to now, prevalence Italian northern regions has extensively determined pigs, less data collected southern ones. There need report more about pigs Italy consideration potential risk posed some specific traditional food products manufactured these areas produced pig livers (e.g., sausages salami). aim this study was demonstrate circulation population province Chieti, Abruzzo Region, Central Italy. Moreover, seroprevalence hunters that area also assessed. overall RNA 9.5% (CI 5.4–16.2%), but no detected samples pigs.

Serologic and molecular survey for hepatitis E virus in wild boar (Sus scrofa) in Central Italy
The aim of this study was to further investigate the role of wild boar (Sus scrofa) as a reservoir for hepatitis E virus (HEV). Sixty-four blood and faecal samples collected from wild boar hunted in Central Italy in 2011-2012 were examined by indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and RT-PCR analysis. Positive RT-PCR samples were further examined by nucleotide sequence determination and sub...
متن کاملPuberty in female wild boar (Sus scrofa) in Sweden
BACKGROUND Since the re-appearance of wild boars in Sweden in the 1970s, the population has increased. Besides having large litter sizes, puberty at an early age is considered as an important factor contributing to the high reproductive potential of wild boar. Although controversial, supplemental feeding is applied to varying extent throughout the wild boar range in Sweden, and its effect on wi...
متن کاملThe feasibility of reintroducing Wild Boar (Sus scrofa) to Scotland
The feasibility of reintroducing Wild Boar Sus scrofa to Scotland was investigated using the predictions of a Geographical information System (GIS) and a Population Viability Analysis (PVA). In the first stage of this study we summarized information from published literature on the biology, habitat requirements, home range use and population densities of Wild Boar, and using a GIS we identified...
متن کاملENDOGENOUS AND EXOGENOUS CONSTRAINTS IN THE POPULATION CHANGES OF WILD BOAR (Sus scrofa LINNAEUS, 1758)
The population dynamics of wild boar (Sus scrofa) was studied in a time series over 26 years using data from the Regional Hunting Reserve of Somiedo (northern Spain). This population is controlled by a complex negative feedback system that acts with one (main) and two (secondary) years of delay (lags). The primary feedback might be explained by intraspecific competition for food resulting from ...
متن کاملEvidence of hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection in human and pigs in Sardinia, Italy.
INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence of anti-HEV antibodies in humans sera and to study HEV prevalence in swine from different Sardinian farms, testing viral HEV-RNA in bile samples. METHODS In the first six months of 2008, 532 subjects of whom 402 blood donors and 130 workers at zoonotic risk, were enrolled. Anti-HEV were determined with an enzyme linked imm...
